Carl-Oscar Gottfries

The journey into pottery for Carl-Oscar began with a simple necessity, finding the perfect bonsai pot. Unable to afford one at the time, he decided to dig up clay and craft his own. What started as a practical solution soon evolved into a deep passion. Two years later, while studying art and gaining access to a kiln, he fired his first handmade pots, marking the true beginning of his ceramics journey. Since then, pottery has become both a creative pursuit and a professional craft.

Specializing in wheel-throwing and coiling techniques, Carl-Oscar enjoys the balance between precision and organic expression. While his work often embraces a minimalist aesthetic, he finds inspiration in allowing the material and process to guide each piece naturally. Experimentation plays a key role in his practice, helping to push creative boundaries and bring subtle uniqueness to every pot.

Rooted in a deep appreciation for both form and function, his pottery reflects a commitment to craftsmanship and the ever-evolving nature of the creative process.
