Isak Haidl

Isak‘s journey with ceramics began in childhood, influenced by his mother, a potter, who introduced him to the craft at an early age. Growing up in a home filled with ceramics and attending workshops, he developed an unconscious connection to the material long before pursuing it seriously.

His artistic path took shape during his time at a Folkhögskola outside Stockholm, where he explored a variety of crafts, including painting, traditional printing, and sculpting. It was during this period that his passion for ceramics deepened. Though largely self-taught, he has been mentored by his mother and other experienced potters, refining his skills through years of practice.

Now based in Malmö, Isaak runs ceramic courses and specializes in wheel-thrown pottery. His approach focuses on precision and craftsmanship, paying close attention to details such as rims, feet, proportions, and glaze application. Inspired by both traditional pottery and contemporary design, his work aims to strike a balance between classic forms and modern aesthetics.
