Description
Embodying resilience and transformation, Grenz-Überschreitung by Wolfgang Weber is a profound sculptural statement on struggle, survival, and beauty in imperfection. Known for his ability to redefine found natural elements, Weber presents a deeply symbolic piece where a charred wooden fragment stands tall on a stone tile, defying the destruction it has endured.
The contrast between the burned, darkened wood and the solid foundation of stone speaks to the journey of overcoming hardships. Rather than concealing its scars, the piece celebrates them, revealing how life’s struggles can become a source of strength and aesthetic appreciation.
A meditation on endurance and transformation, Grenz-Überschreitung invites the viewer to reflect on the beauty of resilience, making it a striking addition to any contemporary collection, gallery, or mindful living space.
Here’s the description from the artist:
“It was lying near the green waste hill behind the fence of the Martin Luther Church in Gifhorn. The friendly secretary said that it definitely came from the Swedish fires of the Advent devotions. Pieces of trunk were used as Advent candles.
Now it was burned out and no longer usable.
An attitude to life that I and many other people in our time know too well.
But his story is not over yet. The foreseeable path is changing. I discovered him and saw his potential.
Now he is standing again. Although not exactly anymore.
Now it has become a work of art of nature. Albeit an unusual one.
Now he encourages us: Even those of us who are burned out can still become something – even something beautiful with a message.
Now he shows us what can happen when we exceed our limits.
Now he encourages us to respect our limits.
This artwork from Wolfgang Weber is representing in a really powerful way, life, a life where despite all the difficulties an individual can still stand and reach new accomplishments. With its 93cm of height this piece is standing on a stone pedestal and comes with a customer made protective box.”
One-of-a-kind artwork – An evocative statement on perseverance and artistic rebirth.
